Why party in-fighting is a bad thing

Here is the front page of National Newswatch right now:

On the left, articles outlying Ignatieff's economic plans in a fairly good light, and Ignatieff delivering some solid policy, something he has previous been criticized for not delievering enough of (and not just outside the party). On the right, 3 articles about party in-fighting. No bets on which set of articles gets more hits. Tous Ensemble, anyone?

Get ready for some brutal analysis on Ignatieff's waffling on the Harmonized Sales Tax too.

Provinces have been voluntarily opting in for the past ten years!!! Ignatieff said that it is Harper's tax and during a recession yet and Harper is pitting province against province and HE would instead have a National standard.

Huh???? This is Provincial and provincial sales taxes are all different. And he still did not say where he stood.

He needs better briefings- it was sad to watch him squirm and then prove he did not know what the heck he was talking about.

I agree. I leave it to you, though, to consider whether you would see public infighting if there were better ways to communicate dissent privately before decisions are made.
